London City Wedding
This was a wedding that I was very excited about shooting. I had never photographed a London city wedding before let alone a wedding at Chelsea Town Hall. I knew the venue and it is elegant and beautiful as of course a Chelsea wedding venue would be. I got there early to have a scout around of the local area as we had planned to have a casual stroll afterwards to get some laid back wedding portraits in some of the London streets. There was no shortage of gorgeous city locations within a five minute walk from Chelsea Town Hall, and we took full advantage for Jenny and Jon's wedding portraits.
It was a lovely autumn day in October and the sun really came out for us. Jenny and Jon wanted a very low key day with just their immediate families in the ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall, including their adorable son who played in the aisle while they said 'I do', with a few more showing up to give them a confetti aisle down the famous steps at the front.
After the ceremony and our walk of the local streets, where they got several hoots and well wishes along the way, we travelled to their reception at the pub where they first met. The upstairs room was perfect for the fifty or so guests. It's got a relaxed but luxurious feel to it, with a well-stocked bar and ornate high ceilings. Bubbles and canapés flowed while a couple of speeches were made and the cake was cut. Then it was time to bid the couple farewell as they headed off for Paris that night on a mini moon to celebrate.
This day was short but very sweet for my first wedding in London, and it was absolutely made by Jenny and Jon being the dreamboats that they are!
