Newborn photography has evolved over the years. As with anything trends come and go. Newborn photos are still varied and in order to choose a newborn photographer that works for you, you need to be able to connect with the story their photos are telling. Most newborn photographers only photograph babies when they're asleep. The need to be asleep so that they can manoeuvre them into different poses with props. My style of newborn photography is very natural, stripped back and honest. I have a baby-led approach to my photoshoots with ample time to be able to have milk and cuddle breaks (my arms are always open for a newborn cuddle!). If your baby is awake then I will photograph them awake in all their wide eyed wonder. I actually love it when they're not in the deep deep sleep that newborn babies fall into. I love to capture the individuality in their movements. They're already so expressive and it't its these moments - the yawns, stretches and wrinkles - that will soon be forgotten about once that newborn bubble has popped.
