The New Forest Adventures
A couple of weeks ago we took a spur of the moment trip to The New Forest.
We decided to stay in Lyndhurst which was a lovely central spot close to plenty of New Forest walks that we could get to on foot, plus a beautiful country village with a nice selection of pubs and restaurants to eat at - and take advantage of the last week of the governments COVID 'eat out, help out' scheme.
On the day we arrived we meandered through Lymington - a seaside fishing town full of quirky, independent shops and studios. A perfect place for brunch and a lunchtime ice cream!
We headed back into Lydhurst to check in and then found a walk just over the road from our BnB which was flat and full of beautiful heather as well as of course plenty of horses roaming around that were amazing.
Lucas enjoyed meeting all the horses around the Forest. He was a bit confused that he had to be kept on the lead most of the time but got over it.
The following day we found a lovely 5 mile hike through a different area of the New Forest. We didn't realise we actually hadn't started the walk until 1.5 miles in where we saw a clear sign. So it was slightly longer than we anticipated and we were DEFINITELY hungry once we finished (thankfully we had a chocolate halfway which got us through!). Pub lunch it was then on to further adventures along the Jurassic Coast . . .
